A cozy 1942 Dutch colonial cottage in the woods — your ticket to the sights and sounds of nature, steps from the Mississippi River bluffs.
A cozy 1942 Dutch colonial is your cottage in the woods and ticket to the sights and sounds of nature. Bright natural light fills the home, original wood floors give it charm, and a pull-out sofa adds convenience for additional sleeping.
A large 4-seasons porch off the kitchen allows comfortable access to birdwatching and peacefulness. Located on quiet Wilkinson Street, the hiking trail to Memorial Park is right at the end of the block — just minutes from quaint downtown Red Wing.
Many types of birds are bountiful during all 4 seasons, and many varieties of wild vegetation and flowers surround the property. Step onto the porch and let nature come to you.
Check in and out was a breeze! The place was exactly what we expected and fit our needs perfectly! Plenty of space between the living and dining rooms for a group of 4. The porch and little patio area was a nice touch and great places to spend some time. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. We make a yearly trip to Red Wing and have always stayed at a new location. The group decided on Sunday this is where we’d like to return every year going forward if we are welcomed back! Great spot!
Our stay was perfect! House was well stocked. Loved the Caribou coffee and the natural soaps. Location was perfect for our activities and very surprised to see the driveway and sidewalks shoveled/plowed promptly. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Red Wing!
We enjoyed our stay at The Bird Perch when we were in Red Wing for a wedding. The house was a cute place to stay, and much cozier than a hotel. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have the use of a kitchen. Parking was easy and plentiful. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Find The Bird Perch on a charming and quaint street nestled against the forest. The Memorial Park trailhead is right at the end of Wilkinson Street. Past that is the Colvill Park and the boat launch to the Mississippi.
